Somerset Township is located on US-12 in the northeast corner of Hillsdale County. The area has many lakes featuring housing developments. Its commercial center has a good mix of retail and service businesses, and benefits from the Michigan International Speedway located just 10 miles to the east. There are also nearby attractions such as Flavor Fruit Farm and a cider mill. The popular and unique McCourtie Park features 17 bridges made of cement but carved to look like logs, planks and ropes.
