The town square is the focal point of this northern Hillsdale County city. The Downtown district is comprised of a wide range of retail and service business with plenty of parking. The city lies at the intersection of M-99 and M-49 and is bisected by the St. Joseph River. The city has a strong local government. Agriculture and industry provide their economic base. A new subdivision provides quality housing at a reasonable price. During the summer months, the residents take advantage of the city swimming pool. The city of Litchfield has its own Chamber of Commerce serving local business.
